Rachael's Story
35 years old
ME for 7 years
I first heard about the Lightning Process when a friend called me to
kindly tell me about it. Then a friend of a friend told me about it
and then two major articles were in the national press. I read them
both with excitement but unfortunately at the time I filed them away,
saying to myself that I must look into it. At the time I seemed to
be busy doing nothing. There were jobs/tasks to be done, but even
one task would take 10 times as long, as my ME had become quite severe by
then. I had headaches, stomach problems, body aches/pains and major
fatigue to name only a few.
In Feb 2007 a friend I had worked with sent me another article from a
newspaper, luckily this time I took action. I said to myself
"this is silly, just stop whatever I'm doing, and do the Lightning
Process". I went onto the internet and looked up Phil Parker's
website. I read the stories, watched the videos and looked at where
I could go to learn the LP.
Most of the articles in the press spoke about Phil Parker or Amir
Norris, which meant going and staying in London or Wales. Through
the website I viewed all registered practitioners in the country.
This was where I found Cat Noble's contact details. For a week I was
unsure whether to go to Phil's or Amir's centres in London/Wales or see
Cat Noble in Reading. I lived closer to the Reading Office but, to
be honest, I had my reservations about whether I would learn the process
as well there rather than go to the founders who devised the process in
London or Wales. The reservations I had at the time were completely
unfounded as the Reading Office was a fabulous place to learn with an
inspirational practitioner in Cat Noble.
On the 4th March 2007 I went to Reading to learn the LP. If I was
to say that the first day was a revelation that would be an
understatement. The training program had a profound effect on me and
the other people on the course.
After leaving the course on the first day, which was 4 hours' long
(more than I had done in one go for nearly a year) I was full of hope and
joy, as well as feeling better in myself. The year before had been a
tough one, but I never gave up hope and could never accept the illness or
the situation I was in. I was right to have done this, as I could
clearly see by the 1st day that the LP was the way forward.
By the end of Day 3 I had walked around a Shopping Centre for over an
hour and danced in my living room, even after completing the 3 hours'
training that day. Two months later and I am doing well. I'm
concentrating now on my fitness, stamina and strength.
I have read and heard that the LP is hard work, but it's not hard work
when compared to living with ME. It takes dedication and commitment
but the results make it worthwhile.
I also remember watching a video of a lady called Jo who said
that you should "beg, borrow or steal" to do the LP. I
wholeheartedly agree with this statement (well, maybe not steal :o) ).
It has given me my life back and given me a tool which I will have for
the rest of my life, for this, I will always be grateful.
